Your first time's not the charm

Let's be real.

The first time you do anything, you won’t be very good at it.

Throwing a baseball.

Kissing.

Playing Blackjack.

Writing an AI Chatbot.

Doing you know what…

Most of us don’t want to relive the first time.

We want to get it over with.

Fast forward until we are better.

So, why would you document a process based on your first attempt?

You’ve gotta get past the rookie mistakes!

If your business is in flux, don't waste time writing out all your processes.

Instead, focus on repetition and refining your approach.

Once you've perfected the work and it's not changing much, you’re ready to hand over the process to someone else.

Or even to a piece of technology.

That's when to start documenting.

Just in time.

Just thorough enough that you know it will get done to your standards.

Until then?

Embrace the learning curve. Have some fun!

Don't worry about processes until you're actually ready to move past that task.

Practice makes perfect.

Perfect processes come from practice, not first attempts.

First, get good.

Then get help.

Then get documenting.
