Know your role

Channel Your Inner Rock for Business Success

In the wise words of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson from his WWE days, "Know your role!"

In business, this means understanding the different roles you play at various phases of your journey.

When starting out, you're a one-person show, wearing all the hats - consultant, designer, project manager, accountant, and janitor.

It’s hard work. But you can’t afford anything else.

Outsourcing early on can be expensive, so you push through.

As your business grows, it's time to focus on one or two roles and find skilled subcontractors or employees to handle the rest.

Whether you're a sales guru, process whiz, or hiring aficionado, embrace the roles that move the needle for your business.

Delegate tasks to others and refine your focus.

Transform from the chief salesperson to the closer, or from the R&D junkie to the process standardizer.

Remember, you don't always need rockstar employees; part-timers or subcontractors can do the trick.

One thing is certain. It doesn’t matter where you started, you are serving a different role today.

You might start as a player, then become a coach, then become the owner of the team.

Just like how The Rock went from amateur football player to professional wrestler to Hollywood actor to investor.

He’s evolved his career frequently and it has been quite lucrative every step of the way.

Listen to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson's advice.

Know your role, and embrace its ever-changing nature.
